Reefer dispatch.

Reefer pays more because more can go wrong. We catch it.

Reefer pays more because more can go wrong. A wrong temperature on the rate con, a load that sat on the dock, a receiver who rejects it on arrival. The dispatcher's job is to catch those before you roll.

What we check on every reefer load

Temperature is the load. We treat it that way.

01

Temperature terms, read properly

Set point and pre-cool, checked.

02

Following the season

We follow the harvest, not fight it.

03

The reefer's own fuel

Priced into your cost per mile.

Your record at pickup

Temps and seal number protect you.

The details
Temperature terms, read properly
The set point, continuous or cycle, and pre-cool, checked on the rate con against what the shipper is actually loading.
Following the season
Freight on this corridor moves with the harvest: California and Arizona in winter, Washington apples in the fall, BC berries in summer. We follow the season instead of fighting it.
The reefer's own fuel
The reefer unit burns fuel of its own. We build it into your cost per mile, so a load that looks rich still clears your floor.
Your record at pickup
We remind you what to note when you load: temperatures and the seal number. That record is what protects you if a receiver says the load arrived warm.
What we watch on reefer

The trip back is where reefer money is made or lost.

Produce pays one way. We plan the way back before you deliver.

Why it matters

Produce lanes are strong in one direction and thin in the other. A reefer that runs home empty after every produce run gives back most of the premium it just earned. We plan the return leg before you deliver, and hauling dry freight in a reefer is fine when it pays.

Reefer lanes on the corridor

Where the cold freight moves.

California / Arizona produce → Pacific Northwest and BC
Yakima / Wenatchee apples → Lower Mainland and Alberta
BC berries and seafood → the western US
Alberta meat and dairy ↔ BC

Questions carriers ask

Answered straight.

Do you book dry freight in a reefer?

Yes, when it pays. Hauling dry freight on the return leg is often better than running a reefer home empty.

Who's responsible if a load is rejected for temperature?

That depends on what happened and what the paperwork shows, which is why we make sure the temperature terms are clear on the rate con and your pickup record is complete before you roll. The claim itself is settled under your cargo insurance and the broker's terms, not by us.

Do you dispatch reefers across the border?

Yes. A lot of the best reefer freight on this corridor crosses the border, and we handle the paperwork for it.
