Truck dispatch · Dry van

Dry van dispatch.

The most crowded freight on the board. We push the rate.

Dry van is the most common trailer on the road, which makes it the most competitive freight on the board. The difference between a good week and a bad one is usually the reload and the rate, not the load itself.

The details that decide whether a van load pays.

01

Live unload or drop-and-hook

We count the wait before we book.

Read off the rate con, planned around.

03

The outbound load

Found before you deliver.

The details
Live unload or drop-and-hook
A drop-and-hook gets you out fast. A live unload can eat half your day. We count the wait before we book, not after.
Appointment windows
Retail distribution centers run tight appointments and some charge for misses. We read them off the rate con and plan the route around them.
Unloading fees
Who pays the lumper at the receiver, and how you get it back, settled before you roll instead of argued at the dock.
The outbound load
Out of the Lower Mainland the outbound van load is the hard one to fill. We start looking for it before you deliver.
What we watch on dry van

Too many trucks chasing the same freight.

Everyone pulls a van, so brokers open low. We counter with real lane rates.

Why it matters

Because nearly everyone can pull a van, brokers have options and they open low. We counter with what the lane has actually been paying and with your cost per mile, and we'd rather move you to a better-paying market than haul cheap freight just to stay busy.

Van lanes on the corridor

Where we keep vans moving.

Lower Mainland ↔ Calgary / Edmonton
Seattle / Tacoma → Portland and Northern California
Salt Lake City and Reno reloads
BC ↔ Washington retail and cross-dock freight

Examples of freight we see. Not a promise of loads.

Know your cost per mile.

It's the floor under every load.

Questions carriers ask

Answered straight.

Can you keep my van loaded both ways?

That's the goal on every trip, but not every lane has freight both ways. We plan the reload before you deliver, and we'll tell you straight when the best move is a short empty run to a better market.

Do you book partial loads?

Yes, when a partial pays for the space and the stops. Two partials can beat one full load, or cost you a day in extra stops. We work it out before we book.

What do you need to know about my trailer?

Length, swing or roll-up doors, how many load locks and straps you carry, and whether you'll take multi-stop loads. It all changes which loads we can put you on.
